Question about overwriting files in C:

Hi. I'm brand new to XAMPP and want to install it to learn PHP for my webpage. Want to install Lite version for windows.
I am having some trepedation, however, with the automatic extraction warning in the installation guide. i want to use the C: drive.
The warning says: "All files in the target directory will be overwritten!" Does this mean all files . . . or all previous apache-connected files (i.e., mysql, perl, and php, etc.)?

Earlier I had Apache on C: with perl but since has been uninstalled. MySql still lingers somewhere but I now access server rather than client for it.
