PHP File wanting to download

I've went through and used the XAMPP package to install to my PC. On my PC I'm wanting to run a certain folder as a web folder for usuage. On the site I'm wanting to run a phpBB3 forums with it. After using the package and getting everything running I tried running the forums. The forums will work perfectly while I am working on the localhost.

The issue I am occuring is when I try to use a program called HFS to serve it online. I have a Domain redirect to my IP so that part is taken care of. When I goto the site with my local IP and on a non-networked PC it will ask me if I wish to download index.php. What would cause it so that the .php files will be asked to download instead of properly viewing them like they are when I got to localhost/phpBB. As far as I can tell everything should be working and I can't find anything that would cause it to act weird otherwise.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, I figured that might be happening. What I can't figure out is why. Everything I've read said it should work properly. I thought at first it was because something wasn't installed, but it works perfectly locally once I got everything going, just not once I try to make it "public".

Why do you need to use HFS?

To serve your php Pages online, you only need the Apache which is already part of the xampp package.
If your Router/Firewall configuration is correct, everything should be fine

Because that could be part of the issue. I tried using Apache to act as the server but when I access the page via IP address on another machine on the network, off the network it says cannot be displayed error connecting. If I use the DNS URL I got for it, it does the same. If I use HFS to serve the site then things start to load up properly except the .php files. In which case they ask me and everyone else to download them. The router/firewall are configured properly and have all proper ports open. Had that not been the case then not even HFS would've allowed access to it.

Sure, because HFS is a File-Server and doesn't have any php parser in it.
