y/day i installed xampp 1.7.3 fur windows .but it doesn't work. i bottomed the START in contorl pannel,RUNNING appears few seconds. and under list says:" busy, warning: terminating worker thread 0" i checked the apache-logs-error shows:

I have a similar problem. Trying to install xampp on Win 7 Pro 64 bit and can't start Apache.
I get the following error in the log file:
Syntax error on line 505 of C:/Program Files (x86)/xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
SSLSessionCache: Invalid argument: size has to be >= 8192 bytes

When looking at the httpd.conf on line 505 I get the following:
SSLSessionCache "shmcb:logs/ssl.scache(512000)"

The argument looks like it is a lot bigger than 8192.

As I recall, Xampp should be installed on a root folder (c:\ or d:\, for example). Try to move it into a root folder and retry.

There may be problems with installing XAMPP in C:\Program Files (there was a problem with Vista; not sure with 7). I personally install mine in D:\Applications and it works fine.

I have the same problem. XAMPP is installed in the root of e:. It doesn't even ask for firewall permissions when I try to start Apache, even though I've read it's supposed to.

It's strange,today I successfully installed xampp for window in another PC. I saved it to F://

right now i re-install xampp for window to D://, myql is working well, apache isn't ,but the RUNNING appeared longer--1min
the error say:

port 80 is free.dun know what's problem with it.
