missing File xampp_xampp.php

Hi,

I downloaded XAMPP from XAMPP.org and ran the setup_xampp file. Unfortunately I am unable to install XAMPP and only the windows command prompt opens up asking me to press a key to continue after giving the following error:

Fatal Error: require<>: failed opening required 'c:\xampp\install\xampp_xampp.php <include path = ' .;.\pear'> in C:\xampp\setup_xampp.baton line 33

Please help me out as to how I should install XAMPP. I could install MySQL, PhP and Apache separately but that will require a lot of tweaking and I would rather have it this way.

Into which directory had you installed the old XAMPP 1.7.2?

So you have a file "c:\xampp\xampp-control.exe", but the file "c:\xampp\install\xampp_xampp.php" does not exists?

No I dont have either of those files. I only have the Windows Batch file c://xampp/setup_xampp

Are you sure that you had also a XAMPP 1.7.2?

I'm having the same trouble, when I run the installer to upgrade from 1.7.2 to 1.7.3 I get the message xampp_xampp.php cannot be found in the .bat file on line 33.

I previously uninstalled a version of xampp, then tried to install 1.7.3 but was getting a message that a file was corrupted - please download a fresh copy and try again. Kept getting this message, so, I installed 1.7.2, which worked fine, but, when I try to upgrade to 1.7.3 I'm getting the above message.

Any ideas?
