Running Moodle with XAMPP on external hard drive

Hey guys, so I recently installed moodle to run off of a flash drive using XAMPP and it worked well. I wish to dot he same thing with an external HDD I have but have run into a couple issues.

After a very long installation process i was encountered with an error stating "libapr-1.dll not found"

Any way I can fix this? Will XAMPP even run off an external HDD? I will try a new install but it seems to take a very long time to extract both XAMPP and Moodle.
