Hi simant! welcome
You can install it from Xampp.org.Extract all the files and install xampp.exe file only thats enough! no need to install it separately

hello. I want to try joomla, but it wants me to install xammp first. I downloaded self-extracting rar and don't know what to do now. I extracted into a folder, but I searched the contents for a setup.exe, a xammp.exe, and a readme. Nothing came up. How do I install xammp?? thank you!

Nevermind...I figured it out and feel stupid now. It was easier than I thought. I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future though. Thanks.

Hi tahojamon.
Simple and stupid are excellent learning tools! As a note to you and others, please share your fixes/resolutions, because they might help us other simple, stupid peeps.

All you need to do is run the .exe file, and specify a location that XAMPP installs in. That's it!

Could you be a little bit more specific? And also please check xampp\apache\logs\error.log for any errors with Apache.
