Many thanks to "Apache Friends" - I had several versions of PHP, Apache, MySql and decided to install PEAR, that's when thing decided to go wrong - I could not get PEAR to work properly. After a few days of "Hair Pulling" I came across the XAMPP on the web, deleted all of my old "bits and bobs" and installed XAMPP, after a bit of a familiarization exercise it's great. Especially the XAMPP console which is a good, well thought out interface to everything I need, and as a bonus PHPMYADMIN - .

No problems at all well except for the new PHP E_DEPRECATED message, but cannot stand in the way of progress.

Many Thanks, ChrisColeman  .
