Windows 7 - Xampp 403 Forbidden

Hi there,

I'm encountering '403 - forbidden' errors when attempting to view files running in Xampp directories, with Mozilla Firefox. I've tried googling for an answer but it doesnt seem that anyone else is encountering the same problem.

Directories will load with a list of files within,
phpmyadmin & xampp security pages will load.
any other document i.e. .html, .php, etc will not open.

I am running:
Windows 7 64-bit
Xampp 1.7.3

the error log says: [Tue Jan 19 13:33:43 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration
any ideas how to fix this?
