XAMPP IN USB STICK

Hi

i set the last xampp (1.7.2) in a usb stick

everything gone well with the instalation

and in the end i start the control panel


the problem is that i press start on apache and mysql the panel write "RUNNING" but a few secs later they stop running

and i dont know what to do

when i install it in c:\ all its fine ......the problem is on the stick

please check your Apache error Logfile (\xampp\apache\logs)
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

I think that apache and mysql can only run as a service when xampp is installed to a hard drive - it's not possible to run either as a service from a USB stick.

When you run setup_xampp.bat and choose option 2 do you see the note:

You should use drive letters, if you want to use services.
With USB sticks you must not use drive letters.


I tried this myself and found that with a USB stick i could run apache as a program but not a service.
And MySQL failed to run whatsoever.
