confused

I can't seem to change when i type localhost to show my files in the htdocs folder, it is redir. to xammp subfolder.. i looked everywhere i could think of including the httpd.conf and it shows localhost/htdoc.. can some one answer this real simple question thanks a ton.

Simply delete XAMPP's index.php and replace it with your own index.php file then type http://localhost in your browser will give you your own index.php file.

Delete both index files in the htdocs folder if you use an index.html file as an alternative to an index.php file.

If you want the XAMPP Welcome Demo Page then type http://localhost/xampp/index.php in your browser.

i have done that and still redirects me to the subfolder xammp that is no longer there.

i have used google chrome and ie8, before and after a computer restart

It's time to delete your browser's cache and do it often when working at localhost level.

yep done and done. i even moved all the files to a subfolder and changed my doc.root to the subfolder
