None. Similar name for similar software.

It's both a distribution of Apache Webserver, MySQL Database, PHP Interpreter and some addons. Probably the versions and releases may differ, but you can easily can find out that on yourself.

You can use them both on one machine, but it's useless and not recommended. If you like to use both at same time, you must configure Apache and MySQL to listen on different ports (Apache usually listens on 80 and 443, MySQL on 3306, as well in Xampp as in Wamp).

>both the applications

I believe you got it wrong:

Neither Wamp nor Xampp is an "application". These are both "distributions", that means they deliver a certain package of third party applications.

And they both deliver the SAME applications (Apache, MySQL, PHP), only the releases differ.

Its senseless to evaluate Wamp vs. Xampp, as you evaluate Apache vs. Apache, MySQL vs. MySQL, PHP vs. PHP etc. The only thing you compare, is (for example) Apache 2.0 vs. Apache 2.2, MySQL 4.1 vs. MySQL 5.0, PHP 5.1 vs. PHP 5.2. (or so - I dont actually know the releases of both packages). Especially your Xampp package is outdated, the actual release is Xampp 1.7.2, which contains Apache 2.2.12, MySQL 5.1.37, PHP 5.3.0 and some more tools and addons.

if i dont get it wrong, i heared that Wampp only delivers me the following applications
* Apache 2.2.11
* PHP 5.3.0
* MySQL 5.1.36
* Phpmyadmin

where as the Xampp delivers the following things
* Apache 2.2.12 (IPv6 enabled) + OpenSSL 0.9.8k
* MySQL 5.1.37 + PBXT engine
* PHP 5.3.0
* phpMyAdmin 3.2.0.1
* Webalizer 2.21-02 + GeoIP lite
* FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.32
* msmtp 1.4.17
and
The installation on the Window operating system is know a WAMP

The equivalent installation on a Linux operating system is known as LAMP.

The equivalent installation on a Mac operating system is known as MAMP.

The equivalent installation on a Solaris operating system is known as SAMP.

The equivalent installation on a FreeBSD operating system is known as FAMP.

Is this the true information that i have got..

If it so. There is a difference in the applications that both of them are delivering..

The filezilla server would not be available in the Wampp
where as it is available on the Xampp
and the nice thing is it can be used both on windows and Linux.
