MySql Deactivates?

Postby MrWizard516 » 02. November 2009 23:30

System info:
OS = Win XP Pro 32bit
Xampp v1.7.2

Here is my problem. I install Xampp using the installer all goes well. After completed I got to http://localhost/xampp to check status and set passwords. Status reads as ALL active before changing passwords. After I change the passwords Sql is Deactivated. I have MySql installed as a service and it is running in my task manager. I cannot figure out what is causing this. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

After I change the passwords Sql is Deactivated.
You may also have set a password for the pma user in the Security page, which may have caused this Deactivated message.

An Advanced Search in forum XAMPP for Windows using keyword deactivated would have come up with this little gem of a fix by one of the XAMPP for Windows developers Carsten Wiedmann:
