I installed XAMPP on a PC 64 bit Vista OS in c:\xampp. The control panel works turning on APache. I don't need anything else except php. I don't have a php service on the control panel. I have a php directory in xampp. I just have Apache, Mercury, Filezilla, MySQL, Tomcat on the xampp control panel. What is Mercury? What do I need Tomcat for? I just need Apache and PHP to run a simple php script. The control panel works I just don't have a php service. I don't seem to have any exe files to start the service either. Did I install the wrong version?IT was XAMPP win321.7.2
What do I do now? This is on a wireless pc connected to my home network by a router. Is that what the problem is? I just want to connect to localhost to test a php script.
thanks,

What's your problem with running a simple PHP script?

(I guess you have read the readme...)
