PHP not working under VISTA ?

Hello,
I recently installed on a new laptop with Vista the latest package of Xampp (I'm using since years now)
Where going to http://localhost/<name of my webste> the webpage that came up showed me a page that makes me believe that the PHP code is not interpreted by the PHP engine.

Xampp is installed on c:\xampp

SKype is running correctly and no other programs pop up with messages
Apache and MySQL are having the "Running" status
the IIS option has been unchecked in the Control Panel

ANyone an idea of how I can make the Xampp environment operationnal again ?

I think, Xampp is "operational", but your own PHP Scripts start with "<?" instead of "<?php".

See the docu for short_open_tag in php.ini

Indeed my TAGs are opened by <? and NOT <?php

I checked the option and turned it on. let's see what happens now
has this option been chenaged in the latest version of xampp as I can't remember that i had to change this option in the previous versions ?

Yes.

You should not go the "easy way" by switching on this flag, instead edit your scripts and change to long opening tags. Reason: short_open_tag may be deprecated in PHP6. I dont know about the latest state, but they seriously are thinking about it.
