Page loading issue...

what do I do to configure my xampp to display my webpage of desire when I type http://my-external-ip/ instead of when I type http://my-external-ip/index.html ..... I want to be able to have my homepage load up just on my ip and not have to add index.html at the end.. open to suggests thanx! OR YOU COULD CALL ME STUPID FOR ASKING ADVICE SAYING IT ISNT OPTIONAL???????????????????????????????????????
