Apache Friends Support Forum

hello ive been using xamp for awhile now.. but whenever i try install wordpress it doesn't connect to the database, i get the following error " Error establishing a database connection" i have followed multiple tutorials and still get this error.
i am using windows vista. can anybody help me.

thanks for that, not really what i was looking for though....
i did read somewhere else that said something like Vista blocks certain ports...
