error 1 (0x1) after installing Tomcat add-on

I have been running XAMPP 1.7.2 without any problems.

After installing the Tomcat 6.0.20 add-on my Apache server won't start, it terminates with a "error 1 (0x1)" error. Does anyone have any ideas?

a) your installation path?a) your installation path?
b) you are using absolute paths (with drive letters)?
c) you have start first Tomcat and then Apache?
