mercury setup and youtube

if some one can help it sure would be nice.
i went to youtube and followed a video to set up mercury mail. i followed instructions. now when i go to get my emails from outlook 2007 it asks for password and will not accept it same for thunderbird have i been hijacked? or is it a config thing

well, it was my isp's server .. they were doing maintenance on it and it was messed up.
