New laptop not booting after installing XAMPP

Oh my! I just got a new laptop with XP...I installed XAMPP and now my laptop won't boot to XP. There is a cursor there that is just blinking....PLEASE HELP

Well, I had a USB flash drive plugged into one USB port and an IPOD plugged into another USB port....i unplugged those and now the system boots. issue resolved
