NOT FOUND http://localhost/xampp/splash.php

I downloaded the XAMPPLITE 1.7 and was following along the directions until I got to: in a browser of your choice, navigate to http://localhost/xampp/splash.php which brought me to an unfound page. Then I thought maybe it was Internet Explorer, so I tried it in Firefox to no avail. What do I do now?

Which direction?

If you get errors check the xampp\apache\logs\error.log file for more detailed error messages.

Make sure that Apache is running by running xampp\xampp-control.exe and observing that Apache is showing running in green if you have started Apache.

Then go to http://localhost/ in your browser not to the URI you posted here but if Apache is running then you should still be able to access that URI.

Thanks, I had it showing in green that it was 'running' and then I went to the browser to input the http://localhost and/or the above url but neither work. they just go to a page that says it is not found
