Help!

Has anyone encountered this message? I am taking a great online class and I hope to get xampp working. Any suggestions would be most welcome!

Welcome to phpMyAdmin

Error
MySQL said:

Cannot connect: invalid settings.

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

Thanks -
Kathleen

What version of XAMPP and what OS are you using?

Check in your XAMPP Control Panel (xampp-control.exe) that MySQL is running.

Go to http://localhost and run the demos to see if your XAMPP installation has no faults including the CD Collection demo.

Read the readme_en.txt file especially the Security section.

Read the XAMPP for Windows Home Page and the associated FAQ.
