Response from server (401) Not OK Unautorized Request

Postby dabble1 » 30. April 2009 03:26

Hi,
Env:
XAMPP windows 1.7.1
Apache

I'm using the following package
http://troda.com/projects/phrets/docs.php
$rets->SetParam("cookie_file", "phrets_cookies.txt");

the cookie file is not created
and the following error message is displayed when a php screen is refreshed
Fatal error Response from server (401) Not OK Unauthorized Request: Reauthenticate Reference: d8940cd....

How can Apache be configured to work around this?
The same code works on linux/apache (not XAMPP) without creating cookie file.

AFAIK, cookies have nothing to do with authentication 401 errors.

Look for any clues in the xampp\apache\logs\error.log file when ever you get a server error.

What directory and where have you put the directory in the xampp tree you are loading your files from in your browser?

What URI are you using to access your files that give the 401 errors?

$rets->SetParam("cookie_file", "phrets_cookies.txt");
the "cookie_file" is a path to where the cookie "phrets_cookie.txt" will be created - but does this folder exist and where is this folder in your xampp tree?

It seems to be a configuration issue, Apache(?) as I installed Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.2.9 on another Windows XP system and the script worked OK.
It also runs on an Linux/Apache system.
To summarize
1. browse to the page successfully
2. refresh page and error message is displayed

Fatal error: Response from Server (401) Not-OK: Unauthorized Request. Reauthenticate Reference: 7527768e-0946-4594-b95d-5c38de717ac0 in C:\xampp\htdocs\mls\phrets.php on line 820

There are no error messages in the error.log
What directory and where have you put the directory in the xampp tree you are loading your files from in your browser?
C:\xampp\htdocs\mls
What URI are you using to access your files that give the 401 errors?
http://localhost/mls/test.php
