When I tried to acccess the phpmyadmin on a localhost I got the message "Access denied"

I've tried all that I could find through a whole day&night surf on the internet.
I suppressed the .htaccess, I copypasted index.html and index.php...
tried to access through the //127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin/ ...no use

I'm on WinXP, I made several sites with joomla, they work fine on the localhost, databasis are in msql folder.
But now when I want to acces phpmyadmin in order to export the databasis, I'm stuck.

Thanx for help and sorry if this was already asked.

I couldn't solve this problem so I finally uninstalled xampp completely
and I reinstalled it. I placed the sites and databasis that I saved
and now everything works fine.
