Apache won't start

I open the xampp control panel and try to start apache, and I get the following:(upon repeated clicks of the start button)

Code: Select all

Apache service started
Refresh...
Done
Busy....
Apache service started
Busy....
ERROR: Apache service not started [-1]
Busy...
Apache started [Port 80]



It still doesn't start and localhost won't work.
I had IIS installed but I have removed it, still nothing.

Any ideas?

Windows services are reporting their problems into the Windows event log.

can you please try to start apache from command line and post the error message here

otherwise nobody knows what is going on and can't help u
