PEAR & Xampp

Postby Gutterboy » 14. April 2009 16:59

I have just spent the last couple hours trying to get PEAR working on the CLI with no luck :( I have searched the net but found no help... :(

PEAR seems to be installed as I have the PEAR directory with many files & folders in it; however during my net search I seen mention of a "pear.bat" file which should be located in "c:\xampp\php\", but I don't seem to have one?

Can anybody help me so I can use pear via the CLI? I need to install a module :(

What version of XAMPP as I have pear.bat in 1.7.0 and the 1.7.1 beta 4 versions all located in the xampp\php folder but in 1.6.8 this is not the case.

There is a file go-pear.bat file that seems to install it, but I would need this confirmed - I just ran the go-pear.bat file and it installed all the pear files that seemed to be missing in 1.6.8.

Try and upgrade XAMPP if you are using 1.6.8 as an alternative.

There is no XAMPP 2.5 - the latest version has just been released and it is XAMPP for Windows 1.7.1.

I would say you are confusing the XAMPP Control Panel version with the actual XAMPP version.

http://localhost/ will give your current XAMPP for Windows installation version.
