I am new to XAMP and to a certain extent to PEAR...
I have setup a XAMP server on a PC running XP sp2
I want to add the Validate-beta PEAR packqge and this is what happens :
C:\xampp\php>pear install Validate-beta
No releases available for package "pear.php.net/Validate"
Cannot initialize 'channel://pear.php.net/Validate-beta', invalid or missing pac
kage file
Package "channel://pear.php.net/Validate-beta" is not valid
install failed
The PC is behind a Microsoft Proxy so it has no direct internet access, but I have set the proxy using :
pear config-set http_proxy http://user:passwd@proxy.ip:8080
Is there is a way to test pear internet connectivity (to be sure the settings for the proxy are ok) ?
why is my pear install failing ?
