How to display Math functions on my MediaWIKI??

Postby FloWIKI » 27. March 2009 13:29

Not sure how to get Math functions

I have the standard install for the XAMPP on Windows XP
I changed the LocalSettings to make $wgUseTeX = true
Now I'm a bit stumped....everytime I run the page with the text (trying to show the symbol alpha), I get
Failed to parse (Missing texvc executable; please see math/README to configure.): \alpha\

README in the /math folder has me a bit lost as I'm kinda a noob to all this :(

Help!

Windows XP, SP2
xampp 1.7.0
mediawiki 1.14.0

Sorry, I don't know anything about your script but would you not be best taking your MediaWIKI problem to the authors web site as really your issue is not XAMPP related and so their site would be much more authoritative.

When you say author, who do you mean sorry?
If you mean the place where the Media Wiki is hosted, that is a server i managed to get off the IT dept at my company to create an intranet Wiki and have used XAMPP to get me this far but now I'm stuck
Thanks for the reply tho

I mean the web site of the MediaWIKI script/app that you are referring to in your post - do a Google for it as they have support and a forum and of course a WIKI also in the documentation you have like a readme file may contain a link to the web site of the script.
Any clearer? ;)
