After installing XAMPP for Windows you get a page with Welcome, Status, Security, Documentation .... buttons.

I have been using the installation (with Joomla) for a while and would like to have a look at that intial page again but can't find it. I don't want to reinstall XAMPP!

Go to http://localhost/xampp/index.php and you should find it there.

Unfortunately that doesn't work. That gives 'object not found'. I suppose that is because 'htdocs' is now the web root so you can't say localhost/xampplite/index.php.

So how do we know what you have done unless you tell us - my crystal ball is in for repair after overheating with all the use it gets on these forums.

What version of Windows?
What version of XAMPP?
both omitted.

Where is xampplite installed?

What have you changed in the httpd.conf file.

Can you access the URI I gave you using 127.0.0.1 ?

What entries are in the Windows Hosts file?

If htdocs is your web root does it still have the xampp folder in it?

Anything else you feel that is not important?

The reason for the problem is that an Xampp directory is created under Htdocs whereas I expected an Xampplite directory to be created as that's the Xampp version I'm using. OK now.
