I have successfully installed xampp on my machine. I have also palced my website folder in the htdocs folder (path C:\xampp\htdocs\mywebsite). I can access my website on local network by typing 'http://10.xx.xx.xx/mywebsite' in the internet explorer. Everything is working perfect.

Now, i want to make my website available on internet by giving it an address 'lnd.apweb.com'. What should i do next?

Note: I am willing to host this website on my office computer. This computer has got internet an connection.

Go for a provider (and/or a NIC registrator) and ask for that domain.
Then ask your provider for a fixed IP for your server and ask the registrar (or your provider, it depends) to bind that IP to the domain.

It's all not that easy as you might think. And it might be expensive, as IP4 is running out of fixed IPs.

It would be easier to look for a dynamic dns provider (like dyndns) and take a different domain name (or lnd.apweb.com is already a dynamic dns - but i've never heard about).

Here is a link to a very good tutorial that may help you to understand and so be able to setup what you are trying to achieve:
