Hy boys,

i want to install XAMPP on a virtual machine with Microsoft Windows 2003 Server as the os.
The virtual machine will host a forum (phpBB I think) and some light servlets.
I think that the medium number of user per minute will be about a 30-40 users.

What do you think about the requirements of the machine in broad terms?

Thank you and regards,

rainfalll

Why would you want to use XAMPP when on a Windows server it has a perfectly good Web server?

This from the XAMPP readme file:
A matter of security (A MUST READ!)

As mentioned before, XAMPP is not meant for production use but only for developers in a development environment. The way XAMPP is configured is to be open as possible and allowing the developer anything he/she wants. For development environments this is great but in a production environment it could be fatal.

Thank you Izzy for your quick reply.

Yes I know XAMPP is for development scenario, I mentioned it to have an idea of what the server will contain in the production environment ( web server, mysql, php, plus a java container for the servlets)..

What do you think about the requirements?
