image URL's localhost-how to change on upload

How do I change all my image URL's when uploading site from localhost to web server?

I have Xampp running on Windows XP Pro and I'm building a website with Wordpress. I notice when I add an image the link is -

"<a href="http://localhost/newvette/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/rhside.jpg"><img src="http://localhost/newvette/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/rhside.jpg" alt="rhside" title="rhside" width="510" height="383" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-132" /></a>"

So when I upload the site from my PC to a server, the links will not work - is there anything I can do to fix that? (Apart from manually changing ALL links)

You would change that behavior in the WordPress configurations.

The Wordpress Forums is the place to get the best way of doing that or in the WordPress docs perhaps.

Basically you would use relative paths not URIs for your Wordpress content otherwise you would have a major job every time you uploaded/downloaded your site and this method is definitely not practicable - other WordPress users would have had similar issues with this and so the WordPress forums would no doubt have an answer or 3 for you.

BTW this is the German language forum - the English language forum is in the ApacheFriends in English, Windows for XAMPP. This post may well be moved there.

Thanks for the quick reply, sorry for posting in the wrong forum - to the MODERATOR - please move my post.

As you suggested, I've contacted the wordpress forums, I'm hoping there will be a way to have the path set automatically to relative path.
