internet explorer problem after installing xampp

Please help.
xampp installed successfully and is also working when i open internet explorer and type localhost.

My problem is that when i try to connect to internet it(eg: microsoft.com or any other site) it says "internet explorer cannot display the page"" error .

actually my net is on i can see it working on firefox.
i want to know why internet explorer doesn't connect to internet after i installed xampp.
