PhpMyAdmin Vista

Postby Dodekus » 09. March 2009 17:58

I have been trying to make Xampp work on Windows Vista. I recently fixed the security page, following instructions replied on someone else's questions. Now I can't access the PHPMyAdmin. The following error shows up:

Code: Select all
Fel

MySQL sa: Dokumentation
#1130 - Host 'localhost' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server

How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance!

Temporarily disable your Windows firewall and test again but remember to clear your browser's cache first or you may be served a cached page instead of a fresh page from the server.

If you can connect after disabling your firewall then go to your Windows firewall and configure it to allow connections to port 3306 and in fact to all of XAMPP's ports.

Still same error. :?

By the way, MySQL cannot be started from the "xampp-control.exe" or "mysql_start.bat". I started Xampp with "xampp_restart.exe" and it says:

Code: Select all
MySQL stop ...
mysql\bin\mysqladmin.exe: connect to server at 'l
error: 'Host 'localhost' is not allowed to connec
Apache killed ...
apache.exe      (520)
apache.exe      (5840)
Apache pid delete ... SHUTDOWN COMPLETE!

Please wait [Bitte warten] ...

### APACHE and MySQL is STARTING now! ###
[Do not close this window while XAMPP is running]

Notice the MySQL stop and all the errors. I have no idea what is wrong.

When you installed XAMPP did you first disable UAC and log in as an administrator?

Have you disabled UAC and are you now logged in as an administrator?

Why can't you start MySQL with the XCP or the bat file?

What error messages?

Is MySQL already started - check in Task Manager>Processes tab or in SCM button in the XCP.

Did you elect to install MySQL and Apache as a service during the XAMPP installation process?

Do you know what installing an app as a service means?

I have tried many times to install Xampp with and without the services. The last time I used the 7-zip.

Solution:
I closed the mysql process in Task Manager and started mysql again. I guess I could have fixed this problem if I just rebooted to begin with. Well now it works and I'm very happy you could help.
Thank you!
