mysql problem on xampp vista 64 bits

Find your startup folder and delete the shortcut for WinMySQLAdmin and don't ever click on the MySQL Admin... button or you will have more troubles.

Remove the tick in the Svc box then try and start Mysql.

If it won't start go to xampp\mysql\ folder and run the mysql_uninstallservice.bat file.

If it uninstalls the service go back and check in the XCP that the tick in the Svc box has gone.

If it has gone then try and Start MySQL.

Don't put a tick in the Svc box until your know that MySQL is Running.

How can i put password for mysql?

You can set the the root user password for MySQL which also sets it for phpMyAdmin by going to http://localhost/security and follow the link, it may take a moment or two to load the pages so you may have to tap your fingers a while or have a drink.

Then go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin and enter root as the user and the password you just set in the security page.

Is that what you meant by "put a password for mysql"?

has nothing with php , i want to set the mysql root and password but is ok without password , thx again
