Hi,
I've been trying to get XAMPP to start when my systems boots (or I login with my user account, either which is fine) but have been unsuccessfull. If I install Apache and MySQL as a service, these services can be automatically started (which works) but this does not start the XAMPP Control Panel, nor does it start the Mercury mail client (which I want to start on boot as well).
Currently what I've tried to do is in the XAMPP Control Panel go to 'Service', check 'Run XAMPP Control Panel as a Service', check 'Start these modules:' Apache, MySql, Mercury, use System Account and check 'Allow Desktop interaction'. This however does not seem to do anything.
I have unchecked the Svc checkboxes in front of Apache, MySql and FileZilla (the checkbox in front of Mercury is grayed out).
If I go to SCM and try to start the 'XAMPP Service' manually I get the notification:
"The XAMPP Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
Starting all the services manually works, they are all up and running so there doesn't seem to be a configuration issue as far as Apache, MySQL and Mercury are concerned.
In the end I don't really care that much for the XAMPP Control Panel to start automatically, but I do want Mercury to start automatically.
Is there any way to accomplish this, or figure out why the XAMPP Service won't start properly?
I'm using XAMPP 1.7.0 on Vista.
Regards,
Marijn.
