Minor Bug: Windows Command Line: php.exe -v

Postby diehard » 04. March 2009 10:55

I started using "C:\XAMPP\php\php.exe" to execute scripts from windows command line for my Yii (PHP MVC Framework) and I noticed a "PHP Warning" that a file is missing. The file "php_pdf.dll" does not exist in my XAMPP installation. By the way, my XAMPP is 1.7.0 on Windows Vista SP1.

I don't know where to report this minor bug or issue:
Code: Select all
C:\XAMPP\php>php -v
PHP Warning:  PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\XAMPP\php\ext\php_pdf.dll' - The specified module could not be found. in Unknown on line 0
PHP 5.2.8 (cli) (built: Dec  8 2008 19:31:23)
Copyright (c) 1997-2008 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2008 Zend Technologies
with Xdebug v2.0.4, Copyright (c) 2002-2008, by Derick Rethans

I know how to fix it by putting a semicolon in front of it. But, I would like to address it to the XAMPP team.

Thank you.

I have no answer for you but I have a default 1.7.0 version installed and here is what I see when I try to replicate your issue:
Code: Select all
C:\xampp\php>php.exe -v
PHP 5.2.8 (cli) (built: Dec  8 2008 19:31:23)
Copyright (c) 1997-2008 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2008 Zend Technologies
with Zend Extension Manager v1.2.0, Copyright (c) 2003-2007, by Zend Technologies
with Zend Optimizer v3.3.3, Copyright (c) 1998-2007, by Zend Technologies

The php_pdf.dll file is in the C:\xampp\php\ext folder.

So in effect this is not a bug but an issue with your XAMPP installation.

If I rename the php_pdf.dll, which in effect removes the file, then I get your error message.

So you have a file missing but it may not be the only one if your download was corrupt.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you what I use, XAMPP Lite 1.7.0 ZIP:
http://www.apachefriends.org/download.p ... -1.7.0.zip

I download the zip file again and found the "php_pdf.dll" file is missing.

Please check it out and confirm?

Thanks!

Xampp lite wrote:XAMPP Lite is a very reduced version of XAMPP
For the lite versions exist no upgrades or addons.
XAMPP Lite is an only "Take-Run-Delete-Forget-it" package.
If you want a full XAMPP then you would need to download and install the full version, then you will have no errors as the php_pdf.dll is included.
