Xampp installtion for mac os x and windows

I want to have an apache installation with php and mysql on my usb-stick to work on my mac at home, but also on the windows computers at school (dell, blegh..). The 2 xampp versions are completely different, can anyone help making this possible?
I didnt know where to post this, sorry for the wrong forum..
