Good Evening,

I installed XAMPP on a Windows 2000 server that previously had PHP and MySQL installed on it. I uninistalled MySQL and my old PHP files exist in c:\php. XAMPP installed and its control panel states that Apache and MySQL are running. When I navigate to the CD Collection page, the application displays a lot of code and does not work.

Also, when I browse http://localhost/security/index.php, I receive Page Cannot be Displayed. The security check states that all items are Unsecure except for Filezilla FTP Password was changed.

Can someone point me in the correct direction on these issues?

Go to http://localhost/xampp/phpinfo.php and see what the Loaded Configuration File is.

What error message are you receiving when trying to go to Security in the Welcome Page menu?
What error message when you try http://localhost/security/index.php, yet you say that you can see the Security Check page?

Have you checked the apache\logs\error.log and access.log files for any clues?

Loaded Configuration File = c:\php\php.ini
Configuratoin File Path = c:\winnt

When I browse to http://localhost/security/index.php I receive XAMPP Security [Security Check 1.0]. Statuses are all Unsecure except for Filezilla FTP password was changed = Secure.

I reviewed error and access logs and can't identify any apparent issues.

The php.ini file that XAMPP uses is in C:\xampp\apache\bin folder and so you should rename the php.ini file in the C:\php folder or remove the path for php.ini in the Environment Variable - your other php installation is in conflict with the php implementation in XAMPP.

I had a similar problem...I also had a previous installation of PHP and Apache...You're a on WIndows presumably ... SO, check your system PATH variable entries in Environment Variables? settings. ANd if you've installed your XAMPP in C:\xamp, then you should have a path entry in that list to C:\xamp\php\pear.
