xampp with wordpress

I am new and dont have so many experiences with this things. I want to use and create my wordpress blog offline and I read i can do it with xampp. I installed it with installer, and now i dont know what to do next, I activated first two options, so they are running, than I went on site http://localhost/xampp/index.php and I saw that everything is working fine, but to be honest, i am lost now. How to go on from this point, using wordpress offline?

You create a folder called wordpress in the htdocs folder, extract all the wordpress files and folders in there, then go to http://localhost/wordpress and follow the installation instructions from wordpress site.
