i download both file for installation of zampp 1.7
XAMPP Windows 1.7.0
[Basic package] Apache HTTPD 2.2.11, MySQL 5.1.30, PHP 5.2.8 + Switch, Openssl 0.9.8i, phpMyAdmin 3.1.1, XAMPP Control Panel 2.5, Webalizer 2.01-10, Mercury Mail Transport System v4.52, FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.29, SQLite 2.8.15, ADODB 4.98, Zend Optimizer 3.3.0, XAMPP Security, Ming, PEAR (selection). Per Windows 2000, 2003, XP, VISTA. Vedi anche README

i repeat both the files
i install xampp in both the method and search for
php-switch.bat
for switching to version 4 of php
but the file is not present in any path

i'm sure that is a stupid error , but whi i can find it ?

Correct, you don't read release notes...

but the help in line of xampp do not say anithing abauth this file,
