Filesize above 2GB error

Postby mr_quake » 18. January 2009 17:28

When i´m browsing files larger then 1GB there seems to be an error reporting the size. I´m currently using Joomla 1,59 and the problem is the same if i use a standalone filebrowser without joomla.

example: a file with 4,37 GB (4 695 412 451 bytes) in windows are showing as 381.89 MB in the web browser.

Its working fine up to 999MB. The first time i notice this was in the previus version of xampp so i thought 1.7 had a fix but it doesent seem so, or maybe i´m doing something wrong ? . I would appreciate any help with this

Windows server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition with xampp 1.7 new install.

Sure you have a limit at 1GB? I know there are possible limits at 2GB and 4GB. But that are PHP problems. Nothing we can do.

(For your own scripts, you can find workarounds in the User Contributed Notes for filesize() in the PHP manual.)

Thank you for a quick reply.

You are right it seems to be wrong above 2GB and not 1 as i said (sorry about that)

Just to be sure i made a zip of 1,11 GB (1 200 367 282 bytes) and when i looked at it in the browser its reporting as 1,12GB.

is there any way i can fix this ? i tried searching the forum but i didnt manage to find a solution.
