XXAMP Control Panel - something odd

When I run the XXAMP Control Panel and close it with the Mercury [Exit] tab, everything is OK. But, if I close it with the [X] in the upper right-hand corner, then I can't log off and I can't run the XXAMP Control Panel again. If I try to log-off or run the XXAMP Control Panel again, I get the message: ERROR: XAMPP is already running.

It is not the Mercury Exit button but the button to Exit the XCP. By clicking on the Window X close button will put the XCP into your system tray and so it is still running so all you need to do is find the icon right hand side of your Task Bar and click on it to restore the running XCP. XCP will not load again if it is already running.
