Probably a stupid question.. is there a "launcher" for Xampp

Postby conticreative » 11. December 2008 03:52

I have switched to Xampp from WAMP because the latter did not play nice with Vista 64. I am happy to report that Xampp is works flawelessly on my machine.

I was wondering if there is a "Launcher" page or script I can use to quickly access m local websites (local folders under htdocs). WAMP's main page had a nice feature where it would show all the folders under the WWW directory and I found it quite handy.

I tried to see if XAMPP has the same feature but I could not find it.

Basically, in WAMP the index.php file also had a script to display the local files, but XAMPP instead redirects to a direcory and I keep on trying to launch my sites at localhost/xampp/sitename. Force of habit, but it got me thinking.

Should I just rip the index.php file from wamp?

Thanks. (Next post: How do I install SVN?)

but XAMPP instead redirects to a direcory

Delete the file "index.php" in htdocs.

it would show all the folders under the WWW directory

Delete also the file "index.html" in htdocs.
