Pages visible from other machines but not mine

I'm running XAMPP on Vista Home Premium

My wife can see the XAMPP start page from her laptop by putting my machine's LAN IP address in but I can't see the pages with either localhost or 127.0.0.1. I can also see the pages by putting my own IP (192.168.0.*) into the browser.

Anyone any ideas what might be causing this strange glitch?

Also check your configuration settings in your router for localhost and IP 127.0.0.1.

Make sure your firewall is not blocking localhost or IP 127.0.0.1 - temporarily disable firewall and virus scanner for the test only.
