#2006 - MySQL server has gone away

This was the error i got when i tried to import my database.

I had built a website using Drupal and had to shift it from my laptop to the desktop. I have taken backup of both my website n DB but i encountered this error while importing the db. How do i go about getting my db tables imported. Its urgent!

Navigate with an explorer to the data-Folder of your MySQL installation on your laptop (i.e. c:/mysql/data or c:/xampp/var/mysql or similar - you should see at least a subfolder "mysql") and copy all subfolders from the laptop to the desktops MySQL data folder (ignore explorer warnings "already exists...").

After then restart desktop MySQL and you have all MySQL Databases (including drupal) in your desktops MySQL.

Postby y_b » 16. September 2008 05:37

The reason i had to shift my db n site from laptop to desktop is because I had to release my laptop.
I no longer have the laptop n the memory from my laptop has also been erased. But i had copied the whole xamp folder from laptop so lemme see if your soltn works.
