wampp to xampp

hi,
we have my wampp installed on my server,
we were using ito for 5 months now, and it has a lot of records.
can i replace wampp to xampp without changing or destroying the db of my web apps?

please advice

You can, but you must know what you are doing.

create a backup of alll your files and/or data bases and logs, and everything u whant to keep, make sure there some where where they cant be touched,,,

then uninstall wampp, and install xampp

then aply the backups

Make sure you use the mysqldump command for your backups.
