when connecting through dns it tries to load local host

I am trying to set up a blog hosted out of my home on a XAMPP for windows server. I am using wordpress, and all the ports are forwarded(at least i think). The XAMPP main page loads fine when i connect through the DNS routing (DynDNS) but when i try to load wordpress it stops using the DNS(would be myserve.something.com/wordpress/) name and switches to localhost/wordpress/ which doesnt load on anything but the server for obvious reasons. Is there a setting im missing, i think it has to do with MySQL (since wordpress uses that) but im not sure.
