What folder is equivelent to the "public_html" folder found on a normal host server. I want to install my copy of vBulletin in my localhost and I'm not sure where to put it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

OK...I found that it should go in the htdocs folder. Now, I have installed my VB copy but when I try to run the script...I get a 404 Object not found on this server error. Is the default install of xampp configured to deal with this...or do I need to change things? I have already created a database for the VB in myphpadmin. Again, Any help would be appreciated.

Which URI are you using in browser?
Filesystem location of the file you are trying to access?

I too have a similar problem. I just installed xampp on my win 2000 laptop. I goto localhost/xampp/htdocs. But none of the php will run from here. I also get the 404 Object not found message.

Even the index file that is there already won't run.

I want to learn PHP but can't because of this.

What is wrong. Is there something else I should do after the installation?

Any help would be very grateful.

And we still have same questions:

Filesystem location of the file you are trying to access?
