Apache service causing error in msvcrt.dll and crashing

Postby Danodemano » 19. June 2008 01:58

So I just recently started to receive this error message every time I reboot my computer, before I even log in. I get an error that Apache has crashed and this:
Code: Select all
Event Type:   Error
Event Source:   Application Error
Event Category:   (100)

is logged in the event logs. Right after that is logged, this is logged:

Then right after that this is logged:

What's weird, is that after I log in, I can start up the Apache service and it runs just fine, no crash or anything. It will run just fine until I reboot and it gets back to the login screen.

I don't see anything that seems relevant around the time of the crash in the apache error log:
Code: Select all

It isn't a real big deal, since I can still start the Apache service just fine after I log in, it's just been bugging me and I was wanting to figure out why it was happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and this is my basic system spec:
HP dv9000t CTO
Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2.00GHz
4GB DDR2 PC2-5300
GeForce Go 7600 w/ 512MB onboard
Dual 100GB 7200RPM SATA II drives
Windows XP Pro SP3
Xampp 1.6.6a
Apache 2.2.8.0

Thanks!

Same Issue

Postby shadow21 » 21. July 2008 14:37

I have the same issue.

I just posted something today about apache and 4GB NP Pool.

Basically if u run task manager, and add in the option for NP Pool
ie View then select columns I have found that apache.exe in the process list is using 4GB of the NP pool memory. Dont know if u have same issue. I am using xampp same versions as u.

I am using 2.2.8 and only thing I can find that might resolve this is to upgrade to 2.2.9. I will be trying it next week so will keep u informed if it works....
