MySQL dont start if its installed like a service [SOLVED]

Hi All
I was using XAMPP for almost two years and is the first time that I have a problem like this ... I installed xampp-win32-1.6.6a-installer.exe in a new and "clean" WinXP SP2 installation, and seems that everything run fine but few days later I found that MySQL was not runing.... I try to start it from control panel but nothing happend ... so I unistall xampp (may be here I does something wrong, dont stop the services )....
Well the problem is that after reinstall arround 10 times I cant get it working fine... I remove the service by hand following some instructive post ...also I delete the registry but always the same .... In control panel if I select to install MySQL like a service (Svc) it never start again... just retun
ERROR: Mysql service not started [-1]
if I uncheck install the service (Svc) then I can click start and it works...but that is the only way...
Any Idea? some one have another way to fix this... instead of just reinstall or delete registry?...
Thanks
